Overview

What the Manager Dashboard is for

The XSTRAT Manager Dashboard gives managers one controlled place to review multiple XSTRAT databases without editing the underlying employee or departmental strategy files.

At a glance
Portfolio view

1+Multiple dashboards in one place
100%Read-only source protection
Portfolio view

Review multiple departments from one premium dashboard hub.

Flexible loading

Single file, multiple files or central folder workflow.

Manager notes

Capture follow-up without editing the source database.

Email summary

Move from review to communication in one workflow.

1

Portfolio visibility

Load multiple XSTRAT databases and move between them as dashboard pages in a single Manager Portfolio.

2

Read-only review

The manager view is designed for monitoring, discussion and follow-up. It does not overwrite the source databases.

3

Manager layer

Add manager notes, follow-up dates, priorities and email summaries without changing the employee database.

Quick start

The recommended manager workflow

Use this sequence when opening the Manager Dashboard for the first time or when preparing a recurring management review.

I

Open the Manager Dashboard

Open the HTML file in Chrome or Edge for the best support for linked folders, save locations and latest-version refresh.

II

Upload or confirm the token

Use Manage Token if access is not already active. The same launch token model is used across the XSTRAT system.

III

Load the portfolio sources

Use Link Central Folder for the strongest SME workflow, or Add Dashboard / Add Multiple when selecting files manually.

IV

Review each dashboard page

Move from the portfolio page to the individual dashboard pages. Each page uses the same dashboard logic as the employee XSTRAT app.

V

Add manager notes and follow-up

Use the right-hand Manager Layer to record priorities, follow-up actions, contact details and an email summary.

Interface

Understanding the toolbar

The toolbar is intentionally simple: one set of actions for loading dashboards, one set for maintaining the Manager Portfolio.

LoadAdd one or multiple dashboard files.
LinkStay connected to central folder sources.
SavePreserve the Manager Portfolio and notes.
PrintOpen a clean print tab with manager notes.
Action Use it when Important note
Refresh You have linked a central folder and want to re-read the latest available files. Best used with Link Central Folder.
Add Dashboard You want to load one XSTRAT database file. Useful for one-off reviews or testing.
Add Multiple You want to select several JSON database files at once. This is a manual load, not a persistent folder link.
Add Folder Your browser does not support persistent folder linking but can import a folder once. One-time folder import; use Link Central Folder where possible.
Link Central Folder The organisation stores department databases in a central location. Recommended for latest-version management reviews.
Save / Load You want to preserve or restore the Manager Portfolio setup and notes. Save creates a Saved Manager Portfolio file; it does not modify source databases.

Link Central Folder vs Add Folder

These two options sound similar, but they support different operating models.

Link Central Folder

Creates a remembered connection to the central folder where XSTRAT databases are stored. In supported browsers, the dashboard can refresh from that location so managers see the latest available files.

  • Best for recurring management reviews.
  • Best for SMEs with central database storage.
  • Recommended in Chrome or Edge.

Add Folder

Imports JSON databases from a selected folder as a one-time action. It does not create the same persistent relationship as a linked central folder.

  • Useful as a browser fallback.
  • Useful for one-off uploads.
  • Refresh may require selecting files again.
Recommended: For paying SME customers, set up a clear central database folder and train managers to use Link Central Folder plus Refresh.
Manager layer

Using notes, follow-up and email summary

The Manager Layer is a separate management overlay. It supports follow-up without editing the employee’s XSTRAT database.

Manager Layer

Use a separate management overlay to guide discussion, follow-up and escalation without touching the source database.

Follow-upPriorityOwner

Email summary

Preview

The manager can turn the follow-up notes into a ready-to-send message for the dashboard owner or employee contact.

What to capture

  • Manager label for the dashboard page.
  • Whether follow-up is required.
  • Priority: normal, watch or escalate.
  • Follow-up date and owner/contact.
  • Manager notes and email summary.

How email works

The Send Email button opens the manager’s default email client with the summary pre-filled. The manager reviews and sends the email from their own email system.

Save and continuity

Saving the Manager Portfolio

The Manager Portfolio is separate from the source XSTRAT databases. Saving it protects the manager’s notes, labels, profile and portfolio setup.

Save the manager layer regularly

Browser storage can be cleared by IT policy, browser settings or manual cleanup. A saved Saved Manager Portfolio file is the safest way to preserve manager notes across devices or browsers.

Manager notes Portfolio setup Manager profile Follow-up data
Print and reporting

Printing a dashboard

Print Dashboard opens a dedicated print tab. This is intentional: it protects the live manager dashboard and gives the browser a clean print document.

What happens when you print

The app creates a separate printable dashboard using the XSTRAT dashboard renderer. The print tab includes a Print / Save PDF button.

What is included

The printable version includes the dashboard view plus Manager Notes, follow-up status, priority, owner/contact and source information.

Troubleshooting

Common questions

Question Answer
Why does printing open a new tab? The print tab is the safest way to print a dynamic standalone HTML dashboard without disrupting the live manager view.
Why are manager notes separate from source databases? Manager notes are part of the manager layer. This avoids overwriting or contaminating the employee or department strategy file.
How do I see the latest dashboard? Use Link Central Folder and then Refresh. This is the preferred workflow where browser permissions allow it.
What if a source file moves? Open the relevant dashboard page and use Replace Source to select the moved database file again.
How do I remove a dashboard? Use Remove Dashboard in the Manager Layer. This removes it from the Manager Portfolio only; it does not delete the database file.
